These works relate to the construction blueprint which is my foundational surface for each painting. It is an ongoing series of media explorations. I combine collage of various papers, low relief, impasto, gold leaf, graphite, acrylics, oil, wax, and varnishes. I build and change the conceptual and spatial context of recognizable figurative forms, often taken from past Christian imagery, and place them on non-objective grounds or manipulate them in other ways.
My concern is the relationship between abstraction and reality, form and content, and representation and non-representation and how these dichotomies are brought together in the God/man, Christ Jesus, who is WORD of God and IMAGE of God.
