Letters to a Diminished Church, Dorothy L. Sayers, W Publishing Group/Thomas Nelson, Inc., 2004

I unexpectedly discovered this book by Dorothy Sayers (published in 2004) while on vacation this summer in a remote northern Alberta shop. She turns "the popular perception of Christianity on its head." Chapter 1 is titled, "The Greatest Drama Ever Staged Is the Official Creed of Christendom."  The chapters on the "Creative Mind" and "Toward A Christian Esthetic" are particularly relevant for artists of faith. I recommend the book highly.

Dorothy Sayers, who died in 1957, was a graduate of Oxford University, a British author, playwright, and scholar. She was also a member of the famous "Inklings," an informal group of writers that included C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.
